Our Mission
Our mission at Time to Drive driver training school is to provide each student with a solid foundation of knowledge and skills to help them become a safe, responsible, and confident driver. Time to Drive driver training school strives to promote in each of our students the attitudes associated with a safe and successful life-long driving experience.
Patience and respect serve as our teaching model and we understand that each person is unique. At the Time to Drive driver training school we provide a more individualized experience through small class sizes to meet the demands of today’s ever changing and challenging driving environment.
Class Schedule
Our classes are held every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (unless otherwise posted). A non-refundable $200.00 deposit is required to hold a space for a class. A student cannot enroll in the program after the third class has been held. A student cannot miss more than 3 classes. Students are required by law to complete 30 hours of classroom lessons, 6 in car sessions and 1 observation. All in car sessions must be contiguous (weekly). Class times are listed below.
Time to Drive Announcements
Effective October 1st, 2025, all driving schools will now be required to charge sales tax at a rate of 10.35%. It is a combined rate that includes state and local taxes. It applies to most retail good and certain services.

Testing
You must be at least 15 1/2 to take the knowledge test and provide a valid ID.

Skills Test
Your vehicle must pass a pre-inspection to take the Skills Test. Customers are welcome to use one of our vehicles to take their skills test. There is an additional fee of $45.00.
If your permit has expired or you do not have one, we will provide you with a temporary authorization form to be used for testing purposes only.To schedule a Knowledge Test or Skills Testing please call our office at 206-205-0019 to make an appointment.
Lessons
Packages for teens and adults, including pricing information, is as follows:
- Lesson 1: Basic Driving
- This lesson is used to determine if the driver can control the vehicle safely.
- Lesson 2: Arterial Driving
- This lesson is used to determine if the driver understands signs, signals, and pavement markings.
- Lesson 3: Parking
- This lesson covers hill parking, parallel parking, and backing around a corner.
- Lesson 4: Freeway Driving
- This lesson covers freeway driving including entering, exiting, merging, and lane changing.
- Lesson 5: Pre-test
- This lesson tests drivers on arterial driving, lane changing, parking maneuvers, and response to controlled and uncontrolled intersections.
- Lesson 6: Skills Improvement
- This lesson covers the skills that driver's need to prepare for the Washington State Department of Licensing test.

Student Lessons

Students must cancel any scheduled drive within 48 hours to avoid a $70.00 "No Show Fee".
Each additional lesson cost $70.00.
